The Association for Citizenship Teaching
The Association for Citizenship Teaching (ACT) is the professional association for Citizenship teachers and everyone else involved in delivering Citizenship. We offer support and advice to teachers and educators on all aspects of Citizenship. For example, helping you to ensure you’re meeting the Ofsted criteria for Citizenship, advising you on assessment, guiding you to excellent resources and offering CPD, training events, networking opportunities and conferences. ACT is the publisher of Teaching Citizenship, the termly journal packed with articles, case studies and lesson plans for Citizenship as well as more in depth analysis of Citizenship issues.
ACT is a membership organisation and members receive:
- mediation and representation of citizenship teachers and citizenship teaching to government
- specialist team to support your successful implementation of the new curriculum
- annual conference for Citizenship teachers
- specialist advice also on specific problems and issues
- regional events for networking and finding resources in your area
- CPD opportunities
- members-only events
- termly journal Teaching Citizenship with invaluable articles, resources and information
- regular monthly updates on events, conferences, CPD and teaching resources
- signposting to excellent resources, including a monthly topic for e-newsletter and downloadable resources from website.
