With holidays in mind, think of setting your students a fun and optional Citizenship task over the holiday. Invite them all to bring a Citizenship-themed object to school on the first day back, with the chance to win a prize for the most interesting contribution, Who knows what you will find on your desk in September! An Italian newspaper with a satirical cartoon about David Cameron? A holiday snap of a British supermarket in China? A prayer mat from an Egpytian pen pal? 

Now is also the time to reflect upon your numerous professional successes from this year. Before you sail off into the sunset (or amble through M1 traffic jams towards this year’s campsite), take time to list your achievements. For every one that you count, treat yourself to a large ice-cream. Only when the list is complete should you switch off for summer!
